use F.A.C.E.  to be a good listener
 
F.A.C.E. stands for:
 
F → Focus
You focus on the speaker and no one and nothing else.
 
Make a noise to show you are focusing and understanding, for example, Uh huh or Mmm.
發出噪音以表示您正在集中精神聆聽和理解，例如使用嗯或啊XDD
 
A → Acknowledge表示認可
you recongnize(認可) the person. 
 
Use short expressions like I see or I understand to show you are paying attention.
 
*可以練習這樣說：
I see.
 
That's true.
 
I got it!
 
Totally!
 
I agree.
 

C → Clarify 
Ask simple questions to encourage the speaker.

What happened next? or How did you feel?

encourage the speaker to talk more

*可以練習這樣說：

Could you say that again, please?

可以請你再說一遍嗎?

Tell me a little bit more about that.

請在告訴我多一點。

Could you explain that in a bit more detail?

可以請您詳細解釋嗎?

 

E → Empathize同感


Saying something to show you appreciate the speaker's opinion or experience.

*可以練習這樣說：

Great!

How wonderful!

That's really interesting.

It's tight!(口語)

It's neat! 好棒!

Sweet! = Cool!

 

*補充：
recognize的中文意思有~
1.認識 2.認得 3.認可 4.收到…的意思 / 表示 (公示送達)
